DAY OLD HATE STREAM THEIR NEW EP ON TEAMROCK

Leeds quintet Day Old Hate are streaming their new EP ‘First Light’ ahead of its February 12 release – and you can listen to it exclusively on TeamRock.com.

"It's something every band at our level should be able to relate to,” says vocalist Oliver Swift of the EP's title track. “It’s about not losing faith in difficult times and making the right decision when several options are put in front of you. Ultimately, it’s a feel good, motivational song about sticking to the path you’ve chosen.

"A lot of people don’t understand what being in a band and creating music is about," he adds. "Many think a band is just a group of guys who aspire to be celebrities, but we do this because we're a strong group of friends who love to make music, and because the feeling of people singing lyrics you wrote back at you is better than anything."

ALL MIKKELLER, ALL WEEK

Brewery of this week at Black Heart is Mikkeller. All week we have goodies on, and plenty of them so you won't miss out on any beer deliciousness. Along with the brews pictured - Jackie Brown Brown Ale and Mexas Ranger made with black beans, chocolate, avocado leaves and chilli -  we also have Mikkeller's Single hop Session IPA Centennial and Amass West Coast Style IPA. On tap now is the All Other Pales Pale, crispy, hoppy goodness in a glass. Make sure you stop by for a pint, or two, or four...

RYEWAY TO HELL

Our beer of the day today is Roguenbier Rye Ale. Made with Rogue farms Dream Rye and Rogue grown hops, free range coastal water and Weizen yeast. Lots of rye and dried fruit flavours wth a creamy texture and a balanced finish. Sitting at 6.6% abv, on tap now!

CARACTÈRE ROUGE

A limited release from Rodenbach, the beer is allowed to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. Expect luscious sweet and sour flavours, with an oaky, acidic aroma. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, get in before it runs out! 

FAITHLESS SPREADSHEET NINJA AND MEET THE BREWER

This coming Wednesday Our Black Heart is proud to host the release of Weird Beard's new brew, Faithless Spreadsheet Ninja, made extra special with a meet the brewer from 7pm. A black lager inspired by Japanese drier versions, brewed with Sorachi Ace and Summit hops but kept traditional with plenty of Hersbrucker, this remains a hop-forward lager. It's a chocolate-y dark brew with some coconut flavour from Sorachi Ace and malt loaf sweetness from the grain bill that's complimented by the bitterness from the other hops, finishing crisp and clean. 

We have a barrel on tap and in a rare event on cask too, so make sure you get down and warm your little black hearts with a pint of the good stuff. 

 

 

AUTUMN MAPLE

New in 750ml bottles, Autumn Maple from Orange County based The Bruery. Brewed with 17 lbs. of yams per barrel, this autumn seasonal is a different take on the 'pumpkin' beer style. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, molasses, maple syrup and fermentation with a traditional Belgian yeast strain, make this bold and spicy beer perfect for a cold autumn evening. At 10% abv it'll keep you warm from the inside out.

The trio from Ontario have revealed the track ahead of their debut album, Higher Power, which is set to drop on February 26, 2016 via Dine Alone Records.

Talking about their debut album, the band said, “Finally the chance to assemble a dynamic and unified set of songs, this is us right here and now. A chance to stretch our legs and explore new pastures of distortion. Here we are, raggedly in the red. Higher Power than your band.”

Autumn Rye Amber Ale from Bristol based Wiper and True. Flavours of citrus, blackcurrant and pine combined with rich barley malts and the peppery rye, complimented with bold hop flavours and notes of strawberries and cream. Perfect for autumn London Sunday drinking. 

NICK OLIVIERI'S MONDO GENERATOR TOUR IS HEADING THIS WAY, BRACE YORUSELF!

Desertscene are thrilled to be bringing back the mighty Nick Oliveri with his Mondo Generator. Conceptualised in 1997 with his brothers in arms, Josh Homme, Brant Bjork and Rob Oswald. Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator began it's full fledged career in 2004, as Nick left Queens Of The Stone Age and focused his efforts into his new hybrid creation. The Generator will be bringing their hard hitting, illicitly nasty, punk rock shenanigans to the intimate (and impeccably sounding) Black Heart in Camden on 23rd November. Eindhoven stoner warlords Komatsu will be joining the bill, to bring their mix of sludge metal goodness to the masses. Tickets won't last, so act quick!

LE MERLE

Le Merle Saison, a Belgian Style Farmhouse Ale from North Coast Brewing Company. A rustic ale, pale in colour inspired by the rich brewing traditions of the Flanders region. Abundant hops and a Belgian yeast strain contribute exotic aromas of tropical fruit. 7.9% abv

AUGUSTINER LAGERBIER HELL

Lagerbier Hell from Augustiner Bräu München. A particularly mild, sparkling, long stored beer that is refreshing and easy drinking at the same time. Unique in taste, Augustiner beers are brewed according to the strict stipulations of the Bavarian 'Reinheitsgebot' - Purity Law of 1516 - at the oldest brewery in Munich. We will have German beers on tap all through October, and special Oktoberfest beers so watch our instagram feed for October specials!

POWER BEER

Powerplant is a Saison from Barcelona brewery, Edge Brewing. A Belgian classic fermented at high temperatures to bring out all those great saison yeast characteristics. Big aromas of fruit and spice carry through into the flavour. The result is a hearty and complex, yet wholly drinkable beer. 7.4% abv.
