COMMIS CHEF

(part time/flexible hours) £13 p/h


The Black Heart in Camden is looking for Commis Chef . £13 per hour.

The Black Heart is a fun and raucous bar and rock music venue, serving excellent booze and beers and showcasing the best of the underground heavy music scene and now some of the best vegan soul food.

We are home to LD’s Kitchen a fully vegan kitchen that has created some award winning vegan style junk food and Sunday Roasts. We are looking for a Commis Chef for full time or part time hours with immediate start. You would be fully trained in our unique products and how we make them.

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive working environment, and are also keen to train people and share our knowledge – whilst prior experience is great, we also welcome people who have not worked in hospitality and kitchens before - we hire based on personality, enthusiasm, and the desire to learn and get stuck in.

We serve wonderful comfort vegan food, good spirits and the best beer we can get our hands on – you will get the chance to try lots of tasty stuff and build up your knowledge. Staff training is important for our company, and there are many opportunities for training sessions with our suppliers, attendance of industry events and visits to breweries, distilleries and the like.

We are part of the Grace Land group, home of The Axe, The Earl of Essex, The Kings Arms, The Bethnal Green Tavern & Red Hand. It’s a nice gang of sites to roam between, with staff discounts facilitating a lot of hanging out at each other’s bars. There is also lots of opportunity for getting extra hours when needed at the sister venues.
