Rocks Off and Brooklyn Bowl Presents:
The Black Halos
plus support: Role Models
Monday April 18th
London • The Black Heart
Although there were a plethora of punk revivalists over the course of the 1990s, Vancouver's Black Halos looked to a slightly different golden age than that of the Clash and the Buzzcocks; more enamored of the glammed-up trash-rock of the New York Dolls, the sonic scuzz of the Stooges, the snotty nihilism of the Dead Boys. Forming in Vancouver in 1994, the band went on to release a host of singles and 2 albums through Sub Pop before imploding in 2001. After a line-up change and reunion that yielded 2 more records, the band finally called it a day in 2008. In 2016 they’re back together for a short Spanish tour and a one-off UK show at London’s Black Heart, their first time playing in the UK in 17 years. Coinciding with the tour, a new single will be released through Spain’s H-Records - the first new collaboration of founding members and songwriters Rich Jones & Billy Hopeless since the Sub Pop era of the band.
Supporting will be London rock & rollers Role Models. After years of building a reputation as one of the best live bands in London, they finally released their critically acclaimed debut album, The Go-To Guy, through Glunk Records in 2016.
